Who could have forgotten the legendary top speed setting superbike which took the world by storm with its top speed of 303 to 312 km/h. Those numbers were practically being pushed with brands such as Kawasaki and Honda back in 1999, trying to be the fastest production superbikes then. Suzuki’s GSX1300R or better known as the Hayabusa. Iconically known for its speed, its design isn’t a letdown either. With design languages taken from the peregrine falcon which is also known for its diving speed hitting 320km/h, it screams speed nonetheless.
The superbike, which design can be said as an acquired taste is designed with aerodynamics in mind. However, the design is a definite non-traditional design which sparked quite a controversy but those who come to appreciate it would have come to remember the design of the superbike.
Suzuki released a promotional video on the new Hayabusa which is set to be unveiled in 2022 making this superbike line to be 22 years old and being the third generation to be released. In the teaser, the bike is showcased to be nearing a banked section on a race track at almost 300km/h and demonstrating its stability all in the same time.
The new Hayabusa now features a new TFT LCD instrument panel which is integrated with the all popular analog instrument cluster which is loved by many. Design wise, the Hayabusa now sports a full LED lighting includes a projector and multi-plane headlight and integrated turn signals, which compliments the sleek bodywork.
With the 3rd generation Hayabusa released, the most notable is that the four-cylinder, DOHC engine which powered the previous generation is fully reengineered and fed by Ride-by-Wire electronic throttle bodies. The superbike will also feature an advanced version of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) which allows for personalization and optimization of the superbike’s performance.
